Birthday celebration dinner for 10
The Delicious Dining Company loves traditional dishes, and this menu, created for clients in Mayfair, ticks all the boxes.
On this occasion it was my client’s birthday and she wanted to treat 10 of her best friends to a meal cooked by a private chef. After discussing the various options that I had put forward, this is what we came up with.
Cornish Crab Salad with Watercress, Chicory and Samphire, dressed with Tarragon Mayonnaise
“I use a very good fishmonger in Claygate, Surrey, who I can rely on for fresh crabs when they’re in season – and I use only white crabmeat in this salad. The samphire brings colour and seasoning to the peppery watercress and bitter chicory. The tarragon mayonnaise adds moreishness.” Steve
Roast Beef Fillet, Potato and Mushroom Gratin, Roast Carrots and Parsnips, Broccoli Tips and Fresh Horseradish Sauce
“The beef fillet is studded with fresh rosemary and garlic, and wrapped in prosciutto. The potato and mushroom gratin is creamy and delicious, and the freshly made horseradish cream is a game-changer.” Steve
Chocolate Tart with Chantilly Cream
“Chocolate puddings are always popular – and there are plenty to choose from. This chocolate tart, using only the best 70% cocoa solids dark chocolate, is rich and indulgent and a little goes a very long way. Chantilly cream – whipped with a little vanilla – is light and fluffy, cutting through the unctuous dark chocolate.” Steve
The feedback from the client and guests was hugely positive. Everyone loved their dinner – and my client said it had been the perfect birthday celebration.
